Blog Five. Bob the Builder! But of social houses!

 I would like to work in a non-profit organization and contribute to the construction of social housing. I envision myself supporting families in the long process of having a home of their own. The dream of your own home. Mainly, I think it is an office job. However, in this type of work many people must be helped and sometimes, many procedures will have to be carried out in different public or private organizations.

I don't think it's the type of job to travel a lot. Actually, I like being and living in the same place. Something stable. I'm not really sure how much money can be made in a non-profit organization. I think it is possible that salaries are lower than those paid in the public sector. There is a very interesting specialization, taught by the University of Chile, which is called master in residential habitat or similar, which studies topics such as neighborhood recovery and urban security.

It is a very relevant issue for our country and people. I think that the housing problem is one of the main problems of our society, especially if we consider the high cost of housing and the economic crisis. A society without strong public policies on social housing generates derived problems such as overcrowding, intra-family violence and social vulnerability in general.
